Yankees 2, Indians 0 (29-15)
The Yankees made it three straight wins and eight wins in their last nine games behind a combined one hit shutout with Andy Messersmith and Rawly Eastwick getting it done on the mound. Messersmith gave up the one hit in five shutout innings while Eastwick didn’t allow a baserunner in four frames. Eastwick picked up the win and he improved to 2-0 on the season.
Graig Nettles two run homer in the seventh inning was all the Yankees got but it was enough with the impressive pitching. It was eighth homerun of the season.
