Bucky Dent’s Grand Slam Powers Yankees To Fifth Straight Win

Yankees 8, Angels 1  (13-9)

The Yankees took it to the Angels for their fifth straight win and they did it with three big homeruns.  Bucky Dent hit a big grand slam and both Graig Nettles and Reggie Jackson also went yard.  Both Nettles and Jackson drove in two runs each and Nettles scored twice.

Mike Torrez improved to 4-1 with a solid outing. He gave up one unearned run on one hit and four walks with three strikeouts in five innings.  Dick Tidrow closed it out and he threw four shutout innings to close the game out.  Tidrow picked up his second save.
