Yankees 3, Rangers 2 (15-10)
Rich Gossage had his best game to date the Yankees twelve inning win over the Rangers. After Sparky Lyle threw 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief through the end of the eighth, Goose took over and threw four no-hit innings to close the game out. He improved to 2-3 and he had four walks with five strikeouts.
Chris Chambliss had the big hit with a walk off solo homer in the bottom of the twelth. Graig Nettles accounted for the other two runs with a two run shot in the third inning. It was Nettles third homer of the season and for Chambliss, it was his first.
