Yankees 8, Blue Jays 6 (4-8)

The Yankees won back to back games for the first time this season behind a strong game at the plate by Chris Chambliss.  The firstbaseman went three for four with two doubles, a homerun, five RBIs and two runs.  Graig Nettles hit his first homerun of the season in the eighth inning.

Ken Holtzman was roughed up but the Yankees game him enough runs to work with. He improved to 1-0 and he gave up five runs on eleven hits and a walk with two strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings.  Sparky Lyle got the final two batters out and he picked up his third save of the season.
