by @ 3:21 am. Filed under Graig Nettles, Sparky Lyle, Dick Tidrow, Bucky Dent, 1978 Yankees, 1978 Yankees Diary - April

April 10, 1978 at Arlington Stadium
Rangers 5, Yankees 2  (1-2)

Dick Tidrow was roughed up as the Yankees lost their opening series of the season to the Rangers.  He gave up five runs on six hits and two walks with one strikeout in just 5 2/3 innings.  Sparky Lyle threw a nice game and he gave up just two hits in 2 2/3 shutout innings but the Yankee hitters couldn’t get it going at the plate to mount a comeback.

Bucky Dent doubled, drove in a run and scored in the loss.  Graig Nettles drew a walk, singled and scored.
