June 4, 1978 at the Oakland Coliseum
Athletics 6, Yankees 4  (30-20)

The Yankees lost their rubber game against the Athletics in a game that saw starter Don Gullett not even make it through the first inning.  The offense brought the Yankees back but Rawley Eastwick had a tough time and he fell to 2-1.  He gave up three runs on three hits and one walk with two strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings of relief.

Chris Chambliss was a perfect three for three with a solo homer.  Reggie Jackson hit homerun number eight and he scored twice in the loss.
