July 24, 1977 at Yankee Stadium
Yankees 3, Royals 1  (53-44)

Yesterday, it was Ron Guidry.  Today is Don Gullett who pitched the Yankees to a win.  Like Guidry, he gave up just one run.  He gave up eight hits and five walks with five strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings.  Dick Tidrow got the final out of the game and he picked up his fourth save of the season.

Chris Chambliss went three for four with two doubles and a run.  Lou Piniella singled and drove in two runs.
