Yankees 9, Athletics 3  (57-45)

Don Gullett improved to 10-3 on the season with a nice start in the Yankees third straight win.  He gave up just two runs on six hits and two walks with four strikeouts in six innings.  Dick Tidrow gave up one run in the final three frames and he picked up his fifth save of the season.

Roy White had a huge day at the plate. He went four for five with a homerun, four RBIs and two runs.  Reggie Jackson homered and drove in two runs and that was his 18th homer of the season.
