Ed Figueroa Pitches Yankees to Win Over Angels

Yankees 3, Angels 1  (32-22)

The Yankees continued their west coast swing and they picked up their second win in a row as they opened up a series with the Angels.  Ed Figueroa threw a solid game and he improved to 6-4.  He gave up one run on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts in eight innings.  Goose Gossage threw a perfect ninth inning and he picked up his eighth save of the season.

Bucky Dent singled and drove in a pair.  Thurman Munson hit a solo homer in the fourth inning, his third of the season.
