Yankees 5, Mariners 2  (36-24)

Don Gullett won his first decision of the season, and while he got some help, he was a pivotal part of the Yankees fourth straight win.  He gave up just one run on six hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings.  Goose Gossage had a tough time finding the plate and he walked four and gave up a run in two innings while Sparky Lyle threw a perfect ninth to earn his seventh save of the season.

Graig Nettles had the big hit of the game with a three run blast.  It was his twelfth of the season.  Mickey Rivers also went yard and Reggie Jackson reached base three times with a single and two walks.
