June 18, 1958 at Cleveland Stadium
Yankees 3, Indians 2 (37-19)
Hank Bauer and Elston Howard homered in the Yankees three run first inning and while that was all the Yankees would get, it was good enough for the win. Howard finished the game 2-4 and his homerun was a two run shot.
Art Ditmar won his first decision of the season and he improved to 1-0. He gave up two unearned runs on three hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings. Ryne Duren didn’t allow a baserunner and he struck out two in 2 1/3 innings of relief. That was good for his tenth save of the season.
