Yankees 6, White Sox 2  (40-22)

The Yankees evened up their series with the White Sox in a game where five of the six Yankee runs came via the long ball.  Mickey Mantle and Norm Siebern both belted solo homers and Jerry Lumpe belted a big three run blast in the fourth inning.  For Mantle, it was his thirteenth of the season.  For Lumpe, it was his first major league homer of his career.

Bob Turley threw a nice game and he improved to 11-3.  He gave up two runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.  Ryne Duren picked up his eleventh save in impressive fashion.  He walked just one batter and struck out six in 2 2/3 innings of no-hit relief.
