Yankees 5, Tigers 4  (22-5)

The Yankees changed ballparks but the end result was still the same as they pulled of a tight one against the Tigers.  Marv Throneberry belted a solo homer in the top of the ninth to win it and he finished with three runs in the contest.  Hank Bauer drew a walk, drove in one and scored.

Ryne Duren picked up the win despite giving up the tying run in the eighth inning.  He gave up just a solo homer with five strikeouts in three innings of relief.
