Yankees 15, Angels 3  (65-50)

Just about everyone was a hitting star in the Yankees 15-3 blowout win over the Angels but leadoff hitter Mickey Rivers led the way for the team.  He had a team high four hits with a homerun, three RBIs and three runs.  Reggie Jackson tripled, walked, drove in three and scored while Chris Chambliss went three for five with two RBIs and a run.

Dick Tidrow improved to 7-4 on the season with a nice start.  He gave up two hits and he struck out four in six shutout innings.  Rookie Gil Patterson gave up three runs in the final three frames but he picked up his first and only career save.
