Yankees Win Best of Seven Game Series 4-2

Reggie Jackson had a historic day as the Yankees won their first World Series since 1962.  Jackson became the first player to homer three times in a World Series game with long balls in the fourth, fifth and eighth innings. He finished with five RBIs and four runs and he played a role in all eight Yankees runs.

Chris Chambliss had a great game but by comparison, it was nothing compared to Jackson’s.  He went two for four with a homerun, a double, two RBIs and two runs.

Mike Torrez went the distance and he won his second game of the series.  He gave up four runs (two earned) on nine hits and two walks with six strikeouts in the complete game win.
