Reggie Jackson Powers Yankees to Win Over Royals

Yankees 5, Royals 2  (17-11)

Reggie Jackson put the Yankees on his back and he played a role in four of the Yankees five runs.  He went two for three with his seventh homer, three RBIs and two runs.  Willie Randolph had just one hit, but it was double in which he drove in a run and later scored on.

Ron Guidry improved to 4-0 on the season with eight shutout solid innings.  He gave up two runs on eight hits and two walks with six strikeouts.  Goose Gossage threw a shutout ninth and he picked up his third save of the season.
