Yankees 6, Royals 5  (13-9)

The Yankees homered their way to a sweep over the Royals in what was their fourth straight win.  Jim Spencer, Reggie Jackson and Graig Nettles all went yard for the Yanks.  Spencer’s homer was a two run shot and Graig Nettles solo shot in the eighth broke a 5-5 tie to win it for the Yankees.

Ed Figueroa had a tough start but it was still good enough for the win.  He gave up five runs on ten hits and a walk with three strikeouts in eight innings.  Goose Gossage struck out two in a perfect ninth and he picked up his first save since joining the Yankees.
