The Yankees won their fourth straight and they did it on the back of their catcher, Thurman Munson. He went two for four with a homerun and four RBIs. Graig Nettles was the other hitting star and he went two for four with a homerun and three RBIs.
Don Gullett picked up the win and he improved to 7-3 on the season. He gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and six walks with four strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.
