by @ 2:50 pm. Filed under 1977 Yankees, 1977 Yankees Diary - August, Bucky Dent, Catfish Hunter, Chris Chambliss, Mickey Rivers, Roy White

August 24, 1977 at Yankee Stadium
Yankees 11, Twins 1  (74-51)

The Yankees put on an impressive offensive display as they got home and continued their impressive month of August.  Chris Chambliss, Bucky Dent, Mickey Rivers and Roy White all went yard in the game.  White had three hits and three runs while Chambliss’ shot was a three run homer.

Lost in all the offense was a great start by Catfish Hunter.  He gave up just one run on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts in the complete game win.
