Yankees Blow Comeback In Loss to Tigers

Tigers 4, Yankees 3  (35-17)

The Yankees came back in the eighth inning to take a one run lead only to have the Tigers scored two in the ninth to steal the win.  Ryne Duren gave up the final run and he took the loss.  He fell to 3-2 while Johnny Kucks decent start went to waste.  He gave up three runs on nine hits and one walk with two strikeouts seven innings of work.

Yogi Berra had the big hit with an eighth inning three run homer.  It was his tenth homer of the season and Norm Siebern went three for four with an RBI.
