Twins 4, Yankees 3 (26-22)
A 3-1 lead turned into a 4-3 loss in a hurry as Ron Guidry and Sparky Lyle couldn’t get it done in the ninth inning. After coasting through eight innings, Guidry gave up a run in the ninth and left two runners on before Sparky Lyle came in and let them both score. Guidry took the loss and he fell to 3-2 on the season.
Chris Chambliss hit a solo homerun in the loss. Roy White was the only Yankee with two hits in the game.
