April 23, 1977 at Cleveland Stadium

Yankees 9, Indians 3 (5-8)

A six run third inning was all the Yankees needed as they won their third straight game.  Thurman Munson had three hits and three RBIs in the win and Mickey Rivers had two doubles, a stolen base, an RBI and a run.  Willie Randolph contributed as well.  He singled three times and scored twice.

Dock Ellis picked up the win and he evened his record to 1-1.  He gave up three unearned runs on four hits and two walks with two strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings of work.  Dick Tidrow threw the final 3 1/3 and by shutting out the Indians, he picked up his first save of the season.
