Athletics 4, Yankees 3  (25-8)

The Yankees blew a three run lead and for just the second time this season, they lost back to back games.  Tom Sturdivant had a 3-0 lead but he gave up four runs between the fifth and sixth inning and he fell to 1-2.  A field error by Marv Throneberry resulted in two unearned runs in the sixth inning.

Hank Bauer was the hitting star in the loss.  He went two for four with his third homer and two runs.  Yogi Berra drew a pair of walks and he scored the other Yankees run.
