Yankees Blown Out By Division Leading Red Sox

Red Sox 10, Yankees 4  (37-27)

The first place Red Sox were too much to handle as Ken Clay and Goose Gossage were roughed up.  Clay gave up four runs in three innings while Gossage fell to 3-7 and he gave up five runs on six hits and three walks with five strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

Roy White was the hitting star in the loss.  He went two for five with a solo homer.  Thurman Munson also went yard with a two run shot.
