Yankees Come Back to Beat Indians In Ten Innings

Yankees 4, Indians 3  (85-54)

The Yankees went into the top of the ninth inning down 3-0 but they rallied to tie the game up and send it into extra frames.  Then Thurman Munson scored on Reggie Jackson’s single in the top of the tenth to complete the comeback.  Mickey Rivers had a big two run single in the ninth inning and Roy White was a perfect three for three with a run.

Ron Guidry pitched all ten innings and he improved to 13-6.  He gave up three runs on ten hits and four walks with five strikeouts.
