Yankees 6, Tigers 4  (43-34)

The Yankees came back from a 4-1 deficit to beat the Tigers in a hard fought win.  Roy White doubled home two runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game up and then Fred Stanley belted a two run homer in the bottom of the eighth to give the Yankees their game winning runs.

Don Gullett was hit hard and he was pulled in the fifth after he gave up four runs.  Sparky Lyle picked him up though and he gave up just three hits in 4 1/3 shutout innings.  The win pushed his record to 6-2 on the season.
