Yankees Comeback Falls Short In Loss to Brewers

Brewers 9, Yankees 8  (49-39)

The Yankees scored five runs in the eighth inning to make a 9-3 deficit into a one run game but they fell just short of sending the game into extra frames.  Mickey Rivers was the big run producer of the game. He belted two homers and he drove in four runs.  Chris Chambliss went three for five with a run.

Catfish Hunter took the loss and he fell to 5-4 on the season.  He gave up six runs on eight hits and two walks with four strikeouts in five innings of work.
