Yankees Continued Lack of Offense Results In Fifth Straight Loss

by @ 7:41 am. Filed under 1977 Yankees, 1977 Yankees Diary - June, Reggie Jackson, Ron Guidry

June 21, 1977 at Tiger Stadium
Tigers 5, Yankees 2  (36-31)

The Yankees dropped their second straight in what was a double whammy of mediocre hitting and mediocre pitching.  Ron Guidry took the loss.  He fell to 5-3 and he gave up five runs on nine hits with six strikeouts in a complete game loss.

Reggie Jackson was the hitting star.  He went two for four with a double and an RBI.
