Don Gullett was pummelled by the Dodgers as the Yankees failed to wrap up the World Series in game five.  They still had two more chances at home you had to wonder whether a lot of people thought whether the blowout might stop some of the Yankees momentum.  Gullett gave up seven runs in 4 1/3 innings and both Ken Clay and Dick Tidrow were tagged for runs as well.

Don Sutton held the Yankees in check at the plate.  Thurman Munson and Reggie Jackson hit back to back solo shots in the eighth inning and Jackson continued to heat up with two hits and two runs.  Graig Nettles singled, doubled and drove in a run in the loss.
