Brewers 3, Yankees 2  (6-8)

The Yankees had a tough time at the plate as the Brewers squeaked out a win as the Yankees dropped their series two games to one.  Mickey Rivers was the only hitter with two hits and he drove in a run while Reggie Jackson pitched in with a solo homer, his third of the season.

Catfish Hunter dropped to 0-3 as his disappointing season continued.  He gave up three runs on five hits with five strikeouts in seven innings.  Goose Gossage had his first start in which he didn’t give up a run with two shutout innings.
