Yankees Held to Just Pair of Runs, Ten Game Winning Streak Ends

Tigers 3, Yankees 2  (23-6)

The Yankees didn’t get much at the plate in this one as they dropped just their sixth game of the season.  Yogi Berra was the only Yankee with two hits.  He singled, doubled, drew a walk and scored a run.  Tony Kubek singled, walked and scored.

Sal Maglie took the loss and he fell to 1-1 on the season.  He gave up three runs on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts in seven frames.
