Yankees Magic Number Cut to Four After Solid Start By Mike Torrez

The Yankees shaved their magic number down to four with their with their fourth straight win.  Mike Torrez got the Yankees through the sixth inning and he picked up the win.  He gave up two runs on six hits and four walks with one strikeout in six innings of work.  Sparky Lyle picked up his 26th save with three innings of scoreless pitching.

Willie Randolph went three for five with a run in the win.  Thurman Munson singled twice, drew a walk, scored a run and drove in one.
