April 18, 1977 at Yankees Stadium

Blue Jays 5, Yankees 1 (2-7)

The first game ever between the Yankees and Blue Jays didn’t go well for the men in pinstripes at the Yankees managed only four hits and a run against the expansion team.  The only run for the Yankees came in the third when Willie Randolph scored on Mickey Rivers sac. fly.

Ed Figueroa took the loss and he dropped to 0-2.  He gave up three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with two strikeouts in six innings of work.  Dick Tidrow was also hit hard and he gave up two runs in the three innings or work.  It also didn’t help that the Yankees made four errors in the game.
