Yankees Shut Out Again, Held to Three Hits

by @ 4:39 pm. Filed under 1958 Yankees, 1958 Yankees Diary - June, Whitey Ford

June 23, 1958 at Comiskey Park
White Sox 2, Yankees 0  (39-22)

The Yankees hitters were held in check to the tune of just three hits as the Yankees opened their series with the White Sox in the loss column.  No Yankee reached base more then once and all three hits were for just one base.

A pretty good start by Whitey Ford went to waste and he fell to 8-3 on the season.  He gave up two runs on seven hits and four walks with four strikeouts in the complete game loss.
