Yankees Shut Out by Bill Travers, Lose Third Straight Game

by @ 12:15 pm. Filed under 1977 Yankees, 1977 Yankees Diary - April, Bucky Dent, Chris Chambliss, Dock Ellis, Mickey Rivers

April 17, 1977 at County Stadium

Brewers 2, Yankees 0  (2-6)

The Yankees continued to struggle and this time they were held scoreless.  It was their third straight loss and their sixth loss in the last seven games.  This time, a great start by Dock Ellis went to waste.  He gave up only two runs on six hits and four walks with two strikeouts in eight innings of work.

Oddly, three Yankees had multihit games despite the team having only seven hits.  Mickey Rivers, Chris Chambliss and Bucky Dent all had two hits in the game.
