April 13, 1978 at Yankee Stadium
Yankees 4, White Sox 2  (2-4)

The Yankees won their home opener and in the process, snapped their three game losing streak behind a very nice start by Ron Guidry.  The lefthander gave up two runs on ten hits and two walks with four strikeouts in the complete game win.

Reggie Jackson had the big hit of the game.  His three run homer, his first of the season, was the game winner.  Mickey Rivers went two for four with a run and a walk.
