Yankees 5, Red Sox 4  (26-10)

It took ten ininngs but the Yankees snapped their four game skid and finished the month of May on a winning note.  Yogi Berra capped off a three run ninth with a two run double that sent the game into extra frames and then Enos Slaughter belted a two run homer in the top of the tenth to give the Yanks the runs they’d need to win it.

Don Larsen threw seven solid innings in a no decision.  He gave up three runs on eight hits and four walks with two strikeouts in seven innings of work.  Ryne Duren pitched the final two frames and while he gave up a run, he improved to 2-1.
