Yankees Snap Three Game Skid With Win Over Royals, Ron Guidry Picks Up First Career Win

Yankees 5, Royals 3 (2-3)

The Yankees snapped their three game losing streak today with a win over the Kansas City Royals.  Mickey Rivers and Willie Randolph led the way with the bats.  Rivers went three for five with two stolen bases, a run and an RBI while Randolph went three for four with two runs.

Ed Figueroa threw a solid game but he didn’t get a decision.  He gave up three runs on nine hits with a walk and a strikeout.  Ron Guidry picked up his first career win with 2 2/3 innings of shutout relief pitching.  He gave up a hit and walk and he struck out three.
