Yankees 5, Blue Jays 3 (27-15)
The Yankees got right back on track with a nice win the first game of their doubleheader with the Blue Jays. They scored three late runs to come back from a 3-2 deficit and it was Mickey Rivers two run homer in the seventh inning that proved to be the game winner. Willie Randolph went two for three with two walks, a double and two runs while Lou Piniella was two for two with a walk, a run and an RBI.
Ron Guidry continued his winning streak and he improved to 7-0 to start the season. He gave up three runs on six hits with six strikeouts in the complete game win.

Yankees 6, Blue Jays 5 (28-15)
The Yankees needed thirteen innings but they finished up their doubleheader sweep over the Blue Jays and took the series three games to one. Willie Randolph singled home the game winning run in the bottom of the thirteenth to win it and Mickey Rivers pitched in with a two run homer in the third inning.
Goose Gossage was called on to pitch seven innings of relief in this one. He gave up two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts and the win pushed his record to 3-4 on the season.
